Hello, beautiful souls, and welcome to another blog post. I’m David, and today we’re diving into a topic that’s not just a big deal—it’s a game changer: gratitude. Trust me, this is huge.

Gratitude is so simple that it can feel almost frustrating at how easy it should be. It’s all about being thankful, every day, for whatever comes your way. Whether it’s the fact that you get to record videos, or because the sun is finally shining, there is always something to be grateful for.

The Small Things Matter a Lot

I often find myself thankful for the simplest things. Just the other day, I was grateful for an amazing football match I played and won, for my beautiful relationship with my girlfriend, and even for small things like my lamps being set up correctly. It’s the little tweaks that make the lighting almost perfect. My mic picking up sounds perfectly and having a great computer to record videos on also make the list. Health, wealth, and even the weather—the list goes on and on.

Shifting Your Energy with Gratitude

When you start practicing gratitude, you begin to feel a shift in your energy. It’s like tapping into a superpower that sets you on the right vibration to receive more of the same positive energy. By regularly practicing gratitude, you start attracting more things to be grateful for.

Visualization vs. Gratitude

You might wonder about the difference between visualization and gratitude. Here’s the deal: when you visualize, you’re setting a specific goal. For example, you might visualize owning a white Tesla. While this is effective, there’s also a rigidity to it because you’re telling the universe this is the best thing you can think of.

> "For the universe, a Tesla is the same as a pencil, or the same as a hundred million euros. The only thing creating size in these things is our minds."

With gratitude, however, you are simply putting out a vibration without specific demands. This makes the process more flexible and open-ended. You show gratitude, and the universe sends you more things to be grateful for.

Building Your Gratitude Practice

Starting a gratitude practice can be a bit challenging. The first few items might be difficult to think of, but the key is to start small. Here’s a simple exercise: grab a notebook and write down ten things you’re grateful for each day. They can be as small as a sip of tea or as significant as your parents supporting your education.

I use a book where I write one sentence every day, capturing moments I’m grateful for, from playing a great game to having an intimate night with my girlfriend. This practice has been incredibly rewarding and keeps my focus centered on positivity.

Everyday Gratitude Exercises

  • Morning Mirror Routine: Every morning, stand in front of your mirror and say out loud the things you’re grateful for.
  • Gratitude Journaling: Write down five to ten things you’re thankful for each day. Aim to find new things each day to keep the practice fresh.
  • Thank People: Make it a habit to thank those around you for the small things they do. This not only lifts your spirits but also fosters a positive environment.

Implementing Gratitude at Work

Thanking people can start with simple acts and can transform the culture around you. When you thank colleagues, even for the smallest favors, it instills a culture of appreciation. Over time, this can lead to a more congenial and cooperative workplace atmosphere.

> "If you are feeling underappreciated at work, start by thanking others. See how it transforms your environment."

Example of Workplace Gratitude

  1. Emailing Data: When someone sends you necessary information via email, thank them right away.
  2. Checking In: If someone asks you how your weekend was, thank them for asking before you reply.
  3. Deliverables: When you finish a project and hand it over, thank them for the opportunity to work on it.

Supplements to your Gratitude Practice

Use Technology

There are plenty of apps like MyFitnessPal, which I use to help log my dietary intake. Being mindful of what I’m eating not only helps me stay healthy but adds another layer to my gratitude for having access to nutritious food.

Mind and Body Connection

Engage in activities that align your body and mind—meditation, visualization, and staying active through sports or regular exercise. Participate in earthing by walking barefoot on grass or using grounding sheets. Stay hydrated and ensure you get good sleep.

Conclusion

Gratitude is a powerful tool that, when incorporated into daily practice, can dramatically shift your life’s perspective. It’s about finding joy in the small things and recognizing the abundance that surrounds you.
